I have to give faith-credit to our daughter: She prays with her soccer team before every game.

It's hard (and often "uncool") to stand up for Jesus in the ever-changing/cliquish/"popularity"-seeking teenage years.  But when God has touched your heart and changed your life...you honor Him.

Those who honor me I will honor, but those who despise me will be disdained.  ~I Samuel 2:30

I have to give faith-credit to our cousin in Arkansas who started prayer meetings with the employees at his place of work.

It can feel awkward or forced to share the Good News of Jesus with employees and team members, but when your eyes and heart have been opened by the Lord, you can't help but want others to experience that same love and freedom from God.

Then, leaving her water jar, the woman went back to the town and said to the people, (29) “Come, see a man who told me everything I ever did. Could this be the Messiah?”

(30) They came out of the town and made their way toward him.  ~John 4:28-30

I have to give faith-credit to my brother who shares the Bible and applications of God's Word with his co-workers, with the people who run the bakery in town, with a race car instructor that he sees once a year, with his investment guy, with his trainer, with neighbors, with....well: everyone.

In his non-threatening and authentic manner...my brother shares God's Word with (just about) everyone he encounters in his world.

When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?”

(38) Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. (39) The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off—for all whom the Lord our God will call.”

(40) With many other words he warned them; and he pleaded with them, “Save yourselves from this corrupt generation.” (41) Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day.

(42) They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. (43) Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles. (44) All the believers were together and had everything in common. (45) They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. (46) Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, (47) praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved. ~Acts 3:37-47

I have to give faith-credit to our first President, George Washington.  What that man did and went through in order to establish our first semblance and assemblies of governmental order for a brand new Nation...well, I doubt we can know the half of it.

Administering and leading a fledgling Nation takes guts and strength, and one might think that pride could and would be a natural partner in the process.

However, George Washington was wise-enough and faithful-enough to admit and acknowledge and embrace that our Nation and all Nations have a "duty" to acknowledge the providence (and protection!) of Almighty God in all that becomes of its land and people:

"Whereas it is the duty of all Nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey his will, to be grateful for his benefits, and humbly to implore his protection and favor..." ~George Washington, Thanksgiving Proclamation of 1789

Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people He has chosen as His own inheritance.  ~Psalm 33:12

I have to give faith-credit to our current President, Donald Trump.  Addressing our Nation (and the world) last night after military strikes against Iran, the President's voice seemed emotional in (what sounded to me like) an off-script and on-faith moment as he wrapped up his speech:

"And I want to just thank everybody, and in particular...God.  I want to just say, 'We love you, God.'

And we love our great military, protect them.  God bless the Middle East.  God bless Israel.  And God bless America."    ~President Donald Trump, June 21, 2025

...if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. (15) Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place.  ~2 Chronicles 7:14-15

We have to give faith-credit to those that we know living their faith.  But today is the day to earn some faith-credit for ourselves.

Faith is not only for our daughters (and sons)/cousins/brothers (and sisters),/and Presidents (past and present).  Faith is for us.  It simply must be.

Let's live in such a way (and such a Nation) today that others must give faith-credit to our Holy God.

Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.  ~Matthew 5:16
