We are sent today...and God gives us his blessing.

Where are we headed today?

To work? School? Off to raise our family? Under piles of files and paperwork? On assignment? Hiking a trail? On bed rest? Deployment? Vacation?

Wherever we are headed today and whatever is on our docket: God gives us His blessing and His peace.

We are sent today: Bow and receive God's proverbial hand on our head and blessing over our efforts today.

Now may the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, (21) equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.   ~Hebrews 13:20-21

We are sent today, and we go with God's blessing.

We don't even know all that we will encounter today, but our Lord does, and He promises us that (if we let Him), He will equip us with everything good for doing his will (Hebrews 13:21).

And...for the plans that we do know that lie before us today...well, sometimes life can be stressful/ intimidating/unknown/or overwhelming. Can we handle it? Can God handle it?

I love that in Hebrews 3:20, the Bible begins this blessing over us today by recalling what else our God has handled/managed/overseen/and blessed: who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus.

God's reminding us today that whatever is on our schedule, is not half as huge as bringing Jesus back from the dead.  Right?

God's got us.  He can do the impossible, and He has.  If He needs to do it for us today, He can, and we can have faith that He will.

And in the meantime...we can trust our Lord today.  He sends us.  And His Word and His Law and speak right into our plans and our schedule and our heart.  Whether we are worried or elated about today: God's blessing is upon us.  Can we feel His peace?

Now may the God of peace,

who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep,

(21) equip you with everything good for doing his will,

and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.   ~Hebrews 13:20-21

Now may the God of peace...  ~Hebrews 3:20

Our God is a God of peace.  We are His heirs..His children.  That peace is passed to us.  Embrace His peace over our day and our minds today.

...who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep...  ~Hebrews 3:20

As previously mentioned (but it bears repeating because of the magnitude of what God did and how it evidences God's control and dominion over our today:) By God's own covenant (promise), we know that on the third day, after Jesus was crucified, God brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus.

It's unexplainable, but we know it to be true, by faith.

And so, if God brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, we can accept that He knows our plans today and God sends us into them, and our God and Father blesses those plans today.  God handled death and resurrection for Jesus, and God will handle all that we encounter.  He will even equip us.

...equip you with everything good for doing his will...  ~Hebrews 3:21

There it is again--God's blessing over us today.  He is going to equip us with everything good for doing his will.

It sounds too good to be true, but God's Word is true, and this is what He is saying to us today.

So, go on.  We are sent today, and we have His blessing.

But we better not (ever) forget why He provides His salvation and His blessing over us.  To Him be all the glory today (and forever).

...and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.   ~Hebrews 13:21

Whatever we face today, whatever joys and whatever obstacles...

Top of the mountain, or bottom of the barrel, God is here with us, and He sends us today, and He places His beautiful blessing over us.  He equips us and He will care for us today.

And we will give Him the glory today.

Thank you for sending us, Lord, and we are so grateful for Your blessing over us and our today.  Amen.
