My husband's new favorite drink is a cold brew black coffee with cold foam.

Have you heard of cold foam? It's like spray whip cream but thicker and creamier.  And just better. When you add cold foam to the top of a cup of coffee, it slowly but surely does magnificent things.  It seeps in.  It infiltrates.  And eventually the foam dissipates and becomes one with the coffee.

You can buy a cold brew coffee with cold foam at a coffee shop, and we have.  But as with most things, I found a cheaper way to reproduce the idea, and we think it's just as great.

My husband makes his own cold brew coffee with cold foam most mornings, and it's one of his highlights of the day.

The cup of coffee starts off totally black, but once the cold foam is sprayed atop, as the foam sits, (if you look closely), you can see it stream down into the cold brew coffee.

Slowly but surely the foam infiltrates the coffee over time.  And over more time it is no longer a black coffee but a khaki-colored-and-cream-filled liquid over time.  The two separate entities become one, and it's heavenly, sip by sip.

God invites us to be the black coffee to His cold foam.  Let Him abide in us today.

Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.

(5) “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. (6) If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. (7) If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. (8) By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.  ~John 15:4-8

If we will sit with the Lord and come under His authority,...if we will steep ourselves in His Word...then His nature will become (more and more) our nature.   The things that God values...we will value.  His desires will become ours.

He must increase, but I must decrease.  ~John 3:30

When we read the Bible it changes us.  Like the cold foam on top of some cold brew coffee...I truly believe (and have experienced) that reading and applying God's word to our heart and life takes us from being one person (without Him) into being a new person in Him.

Therefore if anyone is in Christ he is a new creation.  Old things have passed away; behold all things have become new.  -2 Corinthians 5:17

When we get into God's Word, God's Word gets into us...and we mesh with what God wants and become one with Him.

Abide with Him today.

When we add God and His Word to our prayers, thoughts, worries, and life: He slowly but surely does magnificent things.  He seeps in.  He infiltrates.  And eventually God's Word and ways dissipate thoughout our heart and mind (and us!), and we keep becoming more and more at one with our Lord.

“If you love me, keep my commands. (16) And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever— (17) the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.

(18) I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. (19) Before long, the world will not see me anymore, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live.

(20) On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you. (21) Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me. The one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love them and show myself to them.”  ~John 15:15-21

God shows himself to us through His Word, and He united with us through our obedience of it.

Abide in Me, and I in you.   ~John 15:4

Starting today, let God's word infiltrate our spirit.  Our schedule.  Our life.

We will no longer be who and what we were.

Like cold foam on cold brew coffee, let the Lord settle over us and into us today.

Make us new, Lord, and make us more like You today.  Infiltrate our spirit. Amen.

He must increase, but I must decrease.  ~John 3:30

With Christ we are a different and a much better version of ourselves.  Let the word of God pour over our life.

Let's steep with our Savior today...now.

Be still, and know that I am God...  ~Psalm 46:10

~~~
If you like coffee and you haven't tried it with cold foam, make it happen today.  Either at a coffee shop, or on your own.
And if we profess to know and love Jesus, but we have not sat and soaked Him up lately, make it happen today.
Is our desire to be with Him?  Because His desire is to be with us.  And I can guarantee that steeping/meshing/becoming-one with God will be the highlight of our day.
Blessings,
