My husband has unique interests, and one of his hobbies is making flowers for our yard....out of glass plates.
He saw a glass (plate) flower adorning someone's yard years ago and it caught his eye. And then he thought, "I could do that".
And he has. He's made us a number of flowers and they are really beautiful...and delicate, because they are made of glass.
If one of these flowers falls...they easily shatter.
~~~
I pulled into our driveway the other day to see one glass flower barely hanging on. For some reason it had fallen and almost toppled to the (hard) concrete. Almost.
That flower was this close to shattering. It was hanging on by a thread.
Are we barely hanging on today?
Are we this close to shattering?
And God opens His arms and His Word to us today.
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. (29) Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. (30) For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” ~Matthew 11:28-30
I have chosen you and have not rejected you. (10) So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. ~Isaiah 41:9-10
2 When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.
