Corona Devo 2004

Advertisements for products have always been the main revenue source for media, whether it be print, screen, or radio, and although times and products have changed, the mantra of "This message brought to you by___"  is still widely heard and experienced as our eyes and minds take in the world.

Advertisers pay big bucks to influence our decisions and our lives, and whether we are aware of it or not, "This message brought to you by__" seeps into our psyche, our  mind and our plans.

One minute we're watching TV and the next day we are buying Wonder Bread or a Peloton, or a certain skin care cleanser because..."This message brought to you by__".

Well, today we have a different message to influence our behavior, our thinking, and our lives: Prayer.

Today's message is brought to us by the God of the universe and it is prayed by David, a man after God's own heart (I Samuel 13:14).

We allow so many messages to permeate our minds and influence our actions: let's allow the Bible to dictate our mind, heart and actions today.

This message (prayer) brought to us by God:

Be good to your servant, that I may live and obey your word.

(18) Open my eyes to see the wonderful truths in your instructions.

(19) I am only a foreigner in the land.  Don’t hide your commands from me!

(20) I am always overwhelmed with a desire for your regulations.

(21) You rebuke the arrogant; those who wander from your commands are cursed.

(22) Don’t let them scorn and insult me, for I have obeyed your laws.

(23) Even princes sit and speak against me, but I will meditate on your decrees.

(24) Your laws please me; they give me wise advice.

(25) I lie in the dust; revive me by your word.

(26) I told you my plans, and you answered.  Now teach me your decrees.

(27) Help me understand the meaning of your commandments, and I will meditate on your wonderful deeds.

(28) I weep with sorrow; encourage me by your word.

 (29) Keep me from lying to myself; give me the privilege of knowing your instructions.

(30) I have chosen to be faithful; I have determined to live by your regulations.

(31) I cling to your laws.  Lord, don’t let me be put to shame!

(32) I will pursue your commands, for you expand my understanding.  (33) Teach me your decrees, O LordI will keep them to the end.  ~Psalm 119:17-33

~~~
This message is brought to us by the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End (Revelation 21:6)...our Lord.
I could elaborate on the verses that jump off the page for me today, but different verses will jump off of the page and into your heart today.
Let the Lord speak to us individually and intimately through His Word today.
May we hunger for God and might we turn to Him, and may we be influenced and motivated and convicted and comforted by God's message to us today.
Advertisers pay big bucks to influence our decisions, but God paid for our sin with the life of His Son, Jesus, and that sacrifice cleanses us immediately and right-into-eternity with the Lord, if we will just say Yes to the Lord in our life and heart.
And once we do, we wonder, "What's next?", and that answer is: The Bible.
The Bible is God's Word and if we will read it and pray it and live our lives under it's influence...God will change our hearts and our lives through it and through the power of it.
This message brought to our hearts by our God:
Dear Lord,
Be good to your servant, that I may live and obey your word.  Open my eyes to see the wonderful truths in your instructions.  Keep me from lying to myself; give me the privilege of knowing your instructions.  I have chosen to be faithful; I have determined to live by your regulations.  I cling to your laws.  Lord, don’t let me be put to shame!  I will pursue your commands, for you expand my understanding.  Teach me your decrees, O LordI will keep them to the end. (Psalm 119:17-18, 29-33).  Amen.
