Corona Devo 2032

My husband has a green thumb, and he plants and cares for many creative, beautiful, and delicious things in our garden and around our yard.  Most of his plants have a nutritional purpose and he is specific about what seeds he puts in the ground.

But the other day, he was excited to invite me into the garden area to witness something that he didn't plant, but that had bloomed all over.

When I walked in, I saw dozens of gorgeous and dainty indigo blooms weaving and waving their way along the wall, in and around other potted plants, and down the full side of the garden area.

With my first glance, I said the first thing/prayer that came to my mind and heart: "May God's glory run over and through us and our lives, just as this plant has done in our garden".

The viney interwoven plant was so plush and alive--it almost seemed fluffy!  And there were so many blooms!

“Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you."  ~Isaiah 60:1

It turns out, this gorgeous and fruitful plant is called a Morning Glory.  My husband hadn't planted it, but here it was, in all it's, well...glory.

He found out what plant it was by asking his gardening buddy (and guru on the subject of plants) about the species, and the response from my husband's friend was, "That's funny.  You will have that plant for life.  It produces a lot of seed."

I wouldn't mind a bit.

I saw that lush plant covering the floor, and all of its pretty purple blooms, and all that my heart could see and imagine was God's glory covering us.

I wouldn't mind a bit.

Symbol?  Indication?  Sign?  ...Over-run-weed-with-blooms in our garden area?

Think what you want, but so will I.

May God's glory bloom all over our lives.

“Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you.  (2) See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the Lord rises upon you and his glory appears over you.  (3) Nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your dawn.  ~Isaiah 60:1-3

May God's glory run over and through us and our lives.  Amen.

And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.  ~2 Corinthians 3:18

May God's glory run over and through us and our lives.  Amen.

Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars for ever and ever.  ~Daniel 12:3

May God's glory run over and through us and our lives.  Amen.

“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. (15) Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. (16) In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.  ~Matthew 5:14-16

May God's glory run over and through us and our lives.  Amen.

Oh, send out Your light and Your truth!  Let them lead me; let them bring me to Your holy hill and to Your tabernacle.  ~Psalm 43:3

God's glory is something that we didn't plant, but it blooms all over.  When we commit our hearts to Him, we will see His glory.

Certainly, difficult and trying times will come in our lives, but God's glory is a constant, and is bountiful and palpable in the lives of His children.

I love what our friend said about the full-bloom and rapid-growing morning glory plant in our yard: "That's funny.  You will have that plant for life.  It produces a lot of seed."

I wouldn't mind a bit.

May these sentiments be true of us, and our faith.  I pray that we would have God's glory over us for life, and that WE would produce a lot of seed.

Say a prayer to our holy and generous-in-love Lord: May God's glory run over and through us and our lives today.  Amen.

“Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you."  ~Isaiah 60:1

I wouldn't mind a bit.

Blessings,
