What's the secret to enjoying life

If we want to see many happy days, what's the input for that outcome?

The media, magazines, and mega-stars say, "money".

Rich doctors getting richer say plastics and botox.

Satan says sex, substances and all fleshly pleasures...when we want, and in any derivation that we desire.

But satan only comes to steal and kill and destroy, and those are the eventual results of seeking to enjoy life without God.

But don't be duped: Jesus says, "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full" (John 10:10).

Jesus came so that (in Him) our lives might be full.  But--how do we get there?  How do we achieve the pinnacle experience of enjoying life and seeing many happy days?

Is it possible?

Is it probable?

Is enjoying life and seeing many happy days even Biblical?

Yes.

And how do we unlock these deep daily blessings?

...By locking up our tongue and lies.

For the Scriptures say, “If you want to enjoy life and see many happy days, keep your tongue from speaking evil and your lips from telling lies.  ~I Peter 3:10

It's just that easy.

And (as we know), it's just that hard.

It seems our lips and tongues are drawn to digging. Gouging.  Disparaging.  And defaming others.

But--how bad do we want it?

Want what?

How bad do we want to enjoy life and see many happy days?

We have to ask ourselves this, and we have to test ourselves in this.

It's so easy to partake in the gossip, the slander, the disparaging, the complaining.

And so, we are going to have to want it.

If we truly desire to enjoy life and see many happy days, then we are going to have to get serious and disciplined about shutting it.  Shutting our trap and closing our mouth when it comes to speaking evil and telling lies.

This is one of God's (simple) equations for (life) success, and for today's success.

It's not difficult to do, but we will have to go all in.  And I'm willing to, because I want the outcome.
(Who doesn't?)

For the Scriptures say, “If you want to enjoy life and see many happy days, keep your tongue from speaking evil and your lips from telling lies.  ~I Peter 3:10

Please take this the right way, but (when it comes to speaking evil and telling lies today), let's zip it.

There is peace out there, but we're going to have to search for it, and we'll have to work to maintain it.  But--I'm game if you are, because the risk is (certainly) there....but so (says the Lord) is the reward.

(11) Turn away from evil and do good.  Search for peace, and work to maintain it. (12) The eyes of the Lord watch over those who do right, and his ears are open to their prayers.  But the Lord turns his face against those who do evil."  ~I Peter 3:11-12

The Lord (our Heavenly Lord!) is watching over us, and His ears are open to our prayers.  Keep praying today, and let's keep our (gossipy/lying) selves far off (and silent) and let's keep our good and peaceful prayers present.  Ever present.

What we say and do not say matters today.

For the Scriptures say, “If you want to enjoy life and see many happy days, keep your tongue from speaking evil and your lips from telling lies. (11) Turn away from evil and do good.  Search for peace, and work to maintain it. (12) The eyes of the Lord watch over those who do right, and his ears are open to their prayers.  But the Lord turns his face against those who do evil."  ~I Peter 3:11-12
