For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. ~John 3:16
Some people arrange their nativity sets prior to Christmas Day to include Mary and Joseph, the shepherds and sheep, wise men, and maybe a camel or two...but they don't put baby Jesus in until December 25th, on the day that we celebrate His birth.
Well, today is the day.
Merry Christmas. Add Jesus in to the manger today, and Beloved: let's add Him to our lives. Realize afresh and all-over-again (or maybe for the first time) that God loves you so much (For God so loved the world) that He gave His one Son, His only Son, His precious, sinless, holy Son (that he gave his one and only Son) because He (God) loves us that much, that He would sacrifice His Son so that we would have a way to access our Heavenly Father today, to manage life: and tomorrow, to spend eternity together (that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life).
God gave His Son today so that there might be a forever-payment to take care of our on-going sin. God did that for us today--many Christmas morn's ago, when the Christ-child was born.
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. ~John 3:16
In fact, place Him at the center of our lives, but much more than that, place Jesus at the center of our dreams/our desires/our unspoken hopes--for today and tomorrow. He can handle them, and our life-purpose cannot be fulfilled without Jesus at the center of our hearts.
Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. ~Psalm 37:4
Much of the (mental) time we like to keep Jesus royally-positioned in a far-away, Heavenly place. He hovers and watches, or sits on a throne so far in the distance that He probably has to squint to see us. He is not near. (Or so we often imagine.)
But Christ is near, and He desires all of the best things for us, not the worst. That's why God placed Him in that manger so many Christmases ago.
For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. ~John 3:17
Add Jesus in today.
He's just waiting for us to see and experience Him as He truly is: near.
With us.
All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: (23) “The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel” (which means “God with us”). ~Matthew 1:22-23
Please don't keep Jesus away, at-bay, removed, at-arms-length, distant, or shut-out today. Add Jesus in today. Let Him in today.
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. ~John 3:16
Add Jesus in today.
We'll never regret it, and as we watch the ugly parts of ourself leave, we will be filled with the beauty of Christ as He comes to live and move and reside and radiate within us.
Our God longs to be with us. Add Jesus in today.
...and they will call him Immanuel” (which means “God with us”). ~Matthew 1:23 (and Isaiah 7:14)
Add Jesus in today.
