Turn around.

When we look behind us, what do we see?

Are there cracks or rips in the portraits of our past?  Tears?  Broken pieces and people?

Were there past rifts or tifts or toxic words (or people) that burned hearts and bridges?

We may (or may not) have already realized: We can't change the past.  But good news (if we chose it): God can change today for us.

The Lord has done it this very day; let us rejoice today and be glad.  ~Psalm 118:24 (NIV)

He has done it (God has given us His Son, and His Holy Spirit to live within us).  With Christ in us, we (still) can't change yesterday, but we sure can enter today with the Lord and in the Spirit of the Lord, which means that today can be different than our yesterday.

The Lord has done it this very day; let us rejoice today and be glad.  ~Psalm 118:24 (NIV)

When we look back, there may be memories that maim us, or hurts than hinder us, but that was yesterday, and God's mercies are new everyday: for us and for our memories and mistakes.

...And also for those who have hurt us.

This is the day the Lord has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it (Psalm 118:24 NKJV).

Let's start new today.

God already has.

The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; (23) they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.  ~Lamentations 3:22-23

God's already there (here)...in this new day.
...In the new start, in the forgiven-and-forgotten stage.

Can we get there too?  ...Only with His help: but He proactively provides it.

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. (29) Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. (30) For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”  ~Matthew 11:28-30

The Lord opens the door to a better day today, but the accepting part is up to us.  And we know it.
Are we ready?  If we say "yes", it will change the course of our day, and our life.
The bitter is not better.  And we know it.

Turn around and look back over our lives: Are there cracks/rips/and tears?  Broken pieces and people?  It's hard to move out of a stuck way-of-life, but bitter is not better, and God has promised us more.  Today is a "yes" in Christ, but we must choose Him.
We can't change the past, but God can change today for us.

For the Son of God, Jesus Christ...was not “Yes” and “No,” but in him it has always been “Yes.” (20) For no matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ.

And so through him the “Amen” is spoken by us to the glory of God. (21) Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ. He anointed us, (22) set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.  ~2 Corinthians 1:19-22

Let's turn around today, and stop looking back..lurching back...and hurting back.

Let's face front today, and let's faith-front today.

The Lord has done it this very day; let us rejoice today and be glad.  ~Psalm 118:24 NIV

We cannot change yesterday. But the Lord offers us a fresh start in Him today (and everyday).  The God of the universe bends down and draws near to us.  He has been with us in the challenging and difficult days, and He offers a new beginning today if we will place our hand and heart into His.

Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it?  I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.  ~Isaiah 43:19

Let's faith-front today.

Blessings,
