I am from Ohio, and all-year-round, we can see (and hear) Canadian geese flying and honking in our skies and swimming across our lakes.  And while they are majestic and uniquely-colored birds, they are also commonplace fowl for us.  I enjoy seeing Canadian geese, and I am grateful for them as one of God's creations, but due to their familiarity within our area, they are nothing special to me (Sorry, Canadian geese).

But today I saw the body-form and wing-flap of a Canadian goose, but feathered in angelic white.  Similar fowl, but different feather-dye.

A pair of Trumpeter Swans were gliding through the blue sky like bird-angels delivering a message:

Grace and peace to you from the one who is, who always was, and who is still to come; from the sevenfold Spirit before his throne; (5) and from Jesus Christ.  ~Revelation 1:4-5

Grace and peace to you today, my friends, and grace and peace to me today too.

From who?

 From the one who is, who always was, and who is still to come...  Revelation 1:4

~~~
In a commonplace world, that can become typical, repetitive, and even mundane...let the Lord's words fly over our hearts and minds today like angels dropping a divine note in our lap:
Grace and peace to you from the one who is, who always was, and who is still to come; from the sevenfold Spirit before his throne; (5) and from Jesus Christ.  ~Revelation 1:4-5
Grace and peace?
Does anyone (else) need grace and peace today?
I do.  And I'll actually take a double portion, please, Lord.
How did God know that we needed His grace and peace hovering over our hearts today and flying by our calendar, and our spirit, and our worries?
Only our Heavenly Father could anticipate what is on our mind and eating at our heart today, and what does He say to us in response and in offense to all of it: Grace and peace to you.
Yes, Lord.  We receive Your grace and peace today, Lord.  We need it, Lord.  Thank you for your grace and peace today.
But can we trust the Source?  Does God have the authority, the credibility, the longevity, or the sovereignty to speak grace and peace over us and our circumstances today?
Well--what's our aura for authority?  What's our bar for credibility?  What is our litmus test for longevity?  What's our measuring stick of sovereignty?
Because here is God's resume:
Grace and peace to you from the one who is, who always was, and who is still to come; from the sevenfold Spirit before his throne; (5) and from Jesus Christ.  ~Revelation 1:4-5
We look to the news, media, the government, the stars, doctors, drugs, money, sex, and many other things for peace in our today.
But, have we yet learned?  None of them satisfy or satisfy for long.  These fixes are superficial, shallow, commonplace and temporary.
But not-so with our Lord.  He is timeless and eternal and everlasting.  He is the one who is, who always was, and who is still to come (Revelation 1:4).
Our minds are so finite that we can't even understand all that this means...but we can trust the One who says it, and we can trust and receive what He says.
Let the Lord deliver us a message today through His Word, the Bible:
Grace and peace to you from the one who is, who always was, and who is still to come; from the sevenfold Spirit before his throne; (5) and from Jesus Christ.  ~Revelation 1:4-5
Grace and peace to you today, my friends, and grace and peace to me today too.
We can trust this greeting and promise today, because we can trust the Source.
We can rest in this greeting and promise today, because it is delivered from our Lord who has withstood the test of time, and who existed before time, and who will exist eternally.  His Word is true and His word to us today is grace and peace.
Whatever we know that is on our docket today, and whatever becomes that we had no idea would be on our docket today: Grace and peace to you.
And it's not "grace and peace to you" from the horoscopes page or a well-wishing passerby.
Our day, our docket, our decisions, and our decades are covered by the authentic blessing of our timeless sovereign Lord.  He blesses us with grace and peace and He reminds us that we can trust the Source: the one who is, who always was, and who is still to come; from the sevenfold Spirit before his throne; (5) and from Jesus Christ (Revelation 1:4-5).
Grace and peace to you today, my friends, and grace and peace to me today too: from the one who is, who always was, and who is still to come; from the sevenfold Spirit before his throne; (5) and from Jesus Christ (Revelation 1:4-5).  Amen.
