All glory to him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by shedding his blood for us. (6) He has made us a Kingdom of priests for God his Father. All glory and power to him forever and ever! Amen. ~Revelation 1:5-6

As we look to the cross and enter the Lenten season (forty days prior to Easter and Resurrection Sunday), God welcomes us with His Word...and His Truth.
Sometimes people wonder what "Lent" is about and...simply-put, it is a season where some take their faith one step more seriously, as we walk toward Good Friday and the sacrifice that Jesus made for us by dying on the cross on that day.
Lent recognizes Christ's holy sin-payment and asks us, "How will we respond?"
Lent (and Jesus) don't stop there. Good Friday occurred for us, but three days later Resurrection Sunday also occurred for us, defeating satan and death.
Victory over death, over sin, over darkness and over our temporary earthly existence: that's what the Lenten season and the (any time of year) remembrance of Christ's sacrifice and triumph is meant to stir-up in us.
This is the time to look at the whole ugly-turned-beautiful process of our sin-into-forgiveness and the death-of-Christ into eternal life for any of us that believe in Him and His resurrection.
Do we still have death, sin, and darkness in our world and lives?
You better believe it, and we all know it.
But Christ's question to us today is: How are we going to live in response and in example of God's defeat of them?
The Book of Revelation, Chapter 1, verses 5-6 answer and define both sides of Lent and faith: What we have been given through Christ's sacrifice, and also what our life response should be.
All glory to him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by shedding his blood for us.
(6) He has made us a Kingdom of priests for God his Father. All glory and power to him forever and ever! Amen. ~Revelation 1:5-6
Brothers and Sisters, let's live like this over the next forty days leading up to Easter!
Let's live like this all of our days, until God takes us home.
We (you and me), Brothers and Sisters in Christ, are a Kingdom of priests for God, (Jesus's) Father.
He has made us into this Kingdom of priests.
Live like it today!
All glory and power to him forever and ever! Amen. ~Revelation 1:6

This...this is what the forty days of Lent, leading up to Good Friday and Resurrection Sunday are all about: Our refreshed realization (and glory) to him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by shedding his blood for us.
All glory to him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by shedding his blood for us. (6) He has made us a Kingdom of priests for God his Father. All glory and power to him forever and ever! Amen. ~Revelation 1:5-6
