We have a robin's nest on our front porch, and my husband and I delight to peek outside and watch the mama-robin as she cares for her unhatched.
She has three brilliantly-blue eggs in her nest, and when I wake up in the morning and glance at her...she is sitting there on those eggs.
At mid-morning or mid-day, as I enter and exit our home--she is still-on-duty, protecting those eggs.
In the afternoon, if I peer outside: there she sits in her nest, guarding and warming those eggs.
If I glance out to our porch even at midnight, she is there, perched on her eggs. That mama-robin literally cares for her eggs, (her unborn chicks)...night and day.
If our comings-and-goings get too loud or close, then she may fly away for a moment. But never too far..and never for long.
Friends in Christ--our Lord/our God/our Heavenly Father is never far off, and His heart is even more devoted and fierce for us than that mother robin for her eggs.
If we are not in God's nest today, or under His watchful wing: repent, accept, rejoice, and get there.
Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.(2) I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”(3) Surely he will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence.(4) He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.(5) You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day, (6) nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday. ~Psalm 91:1-6
God is not far off...ever. Like the mother-robin in attendance to her eggs in the nest: the Lord is watchful and mindful of His children...always.
- He will not let your foot slip—he who watches over you will not slumber; (4) indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. ~Psalm 121:3-4
- The eyes of the Lord are everywhere, keeping watch on the wicked and the good. ~Proverbs 15:3
- Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people he chose for his inheritance. (13) From heaven the Lord looks down and sees all mankind; (14) from his dwelling place he watches all who live on earth—(15) he who forms the hearts of all, who considers everything they do. ~Psalm 33:12-15

When we wake up in the morning, the Lord is right here with us.
The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; (23) they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. ~Lamentation 3:22-23
At our mid-morning or mid-day, as we enter and exit our home/our job/our errands/our thoughts/our daily callings: God is ever-on-duty, protecting His children.
Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? (8) If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. (9) If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, (10) even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast. ~Psalm 139:7-10
In our afternoon, there the Lord is: guarding our lives and warming our hearts with His Spirit.
The Lord himself watches over you! The Lord stands beside you as your protective shade. ~Psalm 121:5
Even at midnight, if we seek the Lord...He will be found by us. He is here...ever here and present to those that earnestly seek Him. Our Lord literally cares for us (His children)...night and day.
- If I say, “Surely the darkness will hide me and the light become night around me,” (12) even the darkness will not be dark to you; the night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to you. ~Psalm 139:11-12
- You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart. ~Jeremiah 29:13
Friends in Christ--our Lord/our God/our Heavenly Father is never far off, and His heart is even more devoted and fierce for us than that mother robin for her eggs.
Do the unhatched chicks in those eggs have any idea of the lengths and dedication that their mom is going to--in order to ensure their proactive development, protection, and well-being?
Let's think about that for a moment as we ponder a (superficial) parallel between our Heavenly Father and a mother-robin.
Do WE have any idea of the lengths and dedication that our God has gone to--in order to ensure our proactive (spiritual/physical/emotional) development, protection, and well-being?
How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How great is the sum of them! (18) If I should count them, they would be more in number than the sand; when I awake, I am still with You. ~Psalm 139:17-18
Whether we are ready to acknowledge Him or not.
Whether we feel worthy or not.
Whether we pretend to be too busy or not.
Whether we are grateful or not: our God loves us.
I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness. ~Jeremiah 31:3).
Our God sent His Son to die for us.
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. ~John 3:16
Our God is fiercely protective over us, and He desires us.
...how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you were not willing. ~Matthew 23:37
Let's be willing today, Brothers and Sisters in Christ.

God is present. He is constantly here for us, and with us because of His fierce and devoted love for us.
He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. ~Psalm 91:4
