Has someone "gotten in our head" or "under our skin" with their negative words about us?  Are we being held back, pinned down, or paralyzed by what someone else says about us, instead of by what God says about us?

We can step out of those lies today.

We can step away from defeat in our spirit, and into victory in Christ today.

Let's step into the Bible and God's truth about us, which is the only truth that matters.

When someone else says that we are expendable and of no value, God says that we are holy and dearly loved.

Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.  ~Colossians 3:12

When someone else says that we are nothing-special, God says that we are set apart.

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”  ~Jeremiah 1:5

When someone else tells or treats us as unloved, God says that we are loved.

  • For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.  ~John 3:16
  • The Lord appeared to us in the past, saying: “I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness.  ~Jeremiah 31:3

When someone else's words hold us captive, God says that we are free.

You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love.  ~Galatians 5:13

When someone else speaks exclusion or isolation into us, God says that we are worthy and valued.

Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father’s care. (30) And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. (31) So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.  ~Matthew 10:29-31

When culture or someone critiques our personality or physique, God says that we are made in His image.

Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”  (27) So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.  ~Genesis 1:26-27

When others exclude us, God says that we are never alone.

The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”  ~Deuteronomy 31:8

It can be so very difficult to tune out the voices of this world, especially when they are in close-proximity or even in leadership or authority over us in some way.  But we must make the ultimate authority and Truth over our lives and our hearts to be the Lord.

He sees and hears and will condemn those that oppose Him and His children.  But for those of us who believe and trust God...He says that we should not be afraid of them.

“So do not be afraid of them, for there is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, or hidden that will not be made known. (27) What I tell you in the dark, speak in the daylight; what is whispered in your ear, proclaim from the roofs. (28) Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul.

Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell. (29) Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father’s care. (30) And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. (31) So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.

(32) “Whoever acknowledges me before others, I will also acknowledge before my Father in heaven. (33) But whoever disowns me before others, I will disown before my Father in heaven.  ~Matthew 10:26-33

Acknowledge God today, and He will acknowledge us.

We walk not alone.  No matter who or what we face, we journey with Jesus right beside us today.

Today, let's silence the untruths of the people of this world (and any power we have allowed them over us) and let's listen...believe...and soak-up and soak-in the truth of what God says about His children (us).

See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!  ~I John 3:1

We can step away from defeat in our spirit, and into victory in Christ today.

No one...NO ONE speaks truth over us except our Heavenly Father and if certain people of this world have crippled our self esteem or paralyzed our self worth, then God has sent a messenger dove into the window of our souls today, and the love note attached is His Word (and TRUTH) and promise about us.

“I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness.  ~Jeremiah 31:3

~~~
Sometimes other people can get in our head.  Their words, their criticisms, THEIR inadequacies/self-esteem/and even jealousy...can reflect onto us, and create negative and skewed feedback and criticisms of us.
And...we do it to others too.  Sometimes we are so hard on those that we see as intimidating/better/more accomplished/more gifted than us.  It's not really about them...it's about us, but we try to deflect our dissatisfaction with ourselves by critiquing and criticizing others.
Whether we have been receiving or delivering false perceptions...shame on us.  Neither are God's good plan for us today.  Let's listen only to what He says about us!  And...it's all good stuff
Now therefore, if you will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant, then you shall be a special treasure to Me above all people; for all the earth is Mine.  ~Exodus 19:5
