Aaaahhhhh, can you feel it?

It’s almost hard to recognize, because it can become so unfamiliar to us, but we know it when we experience it, and aaahhh, it’s wonderful.

What is the “aaaahhh” that our soul aches for?
Peace.

Yes, we desire peace...and God desires to give it to us:

  • “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”  ~John 16:33
  • Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.  ~John 14:27

Yes, we want peace, and yet…We hurry.  We bustle.  We plan, and we do, and we plan some more, and we do some more.  Until we are taxed and we are anything but peaceful.

We want peace, but the pattern of our lives proves (over and over daily) that we (literally) avoid peace.

But…today could be different.  Today could be peaceful.

Shhhh—can we hear His peace?

It’s in the rustle of the leaves, and the branches in the breeze.

You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and hills will burst into song before you, and all the trees of the field will clap their hands.  ~Isaiah 55:12

~~~
Aaahhh, peace.  It’s in our time dedicated to reading God’s Word (the Bible), and in our prayers as we talk to Him.
You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You.  ~Isaiah 26:3
~~~

Shhhh and Zzzzzzzzz.
God gives us His peace in the still, in the sweet, in the song, and sometimes---in the sleep.
Let's rest in the arms of God today, and at times, we can take that literally.

In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, Lordmake me dwell in safety.  ~Psalm 4:8

Aaahhh, peace.

~~~
Thank you to those bringing peace today.
We feel God’s peace when we are in the presence of those experiencing and sharing it.
(Are we those people?)
How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, “Your God reigns!”  ~Isaiah 52:7
~~
Aaahhh, great peace comes to us when we learn/obey/and love God's law.
Father, help us commit to your commands today.  Amen, and aaahhhh: peace.
Great peace have those who love your law, and nothing can make them stumble.  ~Psalm 119:165
~~~

Aaahhh, peace.  It is in God's Creation.  Will we cease our pace long enough to sense His peace in plants, animals, harvests, and all that God has created today?

Then God said, “I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food.

(30) And to all the beasts of the earth and all the birds in the sky and all the creatures that move along the ground—everything that has the breath of life in it—I give every green plant for food.” And it was so.

(31) God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. ~Genesis 1:29-31

~~~
Aaahhh, we feel God’s peace when we can discipline our minds and bodies to just STOP.
Stop thinking, stop worrying, stop working, stop playing, stop everything except our focus on the Lord.
Be still and know that I am God.  ~Psalm 46:10
Aaaahhh, peace.  It's right here all the time, and it's right here now and today.
Inhale slowly.  Exhale slowly.
The Lord provides us with His peace.
The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn His face toward you and give you peace.  ~Numbers 6:24-26
