Ouch!!  Did you feel that?  (Or...have we felt that?)

...That prick of God's Word into our heart, or that stab of Scripture into our soul?  It hurts.  But it is pain with a purpose...God's purpose, and while it can stretch us to follow the Lord's lead, it will bless us to obey God in what His Word is teaching us.

For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.  ~Hebrews 4:12

Have we felt the sharpness of the word of God lately, pressing against our sinful ways?  God tells us that His word is quick and powerful, but sometimes we are slow and resistant to obey it.

And sometimes it almost doesn't even seem like sin, but it is merely something that we are stuck in, or a prisoner to.  However, if we have felt the Lord convict us through His Word to move in some way...then it is a sin to stand still.

If anyone, then, knows the good they ought to do and doesn’t do it, it is sin for them.  ~James 4:17

The Bible makes a sneak-attack on us sometimes.  God's Word (when being read or preached) can tip-toe up on us and catch us unaware when we least expect to be found guilty.  But we feel the prods and even the piercing of the Lord's conviction upon us when our spirit is humble before Him.

And while the proactivity of walking-out what our Heavenly Father says is sometimes very difficult...the freedom and peace of walking in God's will is life-giving and fulfilling, in comparison to the guilt and impotence of walking outside of God's will.

We should read the Bible and we should respond to what God speaks to us through it.

For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.  ~Hebrews 4:12

Don't delay today.

If God, and the word of God is piercing us about something...do it.

If the Lord has touched, and divided both our soul and spirit, then we must work to unite both back together by being in union with what His Word calls us to do and be.

If we feel a bit naked because our Heavenly Father has discerned our thoughts...and He has come up wanting...then we can make the right (spiritual) decision today to clothe ourselves in His righteousness and His right ways.

Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the flesh.  ~Romans 13:14 (NIV)

But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts.  ~Romans 13:14 (NKJV)
