Corona Devo 3295

No longer. 

No longer will there be a curse upon anything. For the throne of God and of the Lamb will be there, and his servants will worship him.  ~Revelation 22:3

No longer will there be a curse upon anything. 

One day soon (for all of us that know the Lord) there will no longer be a curse.  

The Lord brings to my heart the curse of cancer...the curse of depression...the curse of pain...the curse of sorrow...the curse of (physical and mental) handicaps...the curse of addiction...the curse of sin....

The world's curses can threaten (even today), to overtake us, but they will not overtake us because nothing can be claimed that has already been spoken for.  And the Lord Jesus Christ claimed us as His long before any of our "curses" arrived on our scene. 

We will not be overcome because we have already been claimed.  We belong to the Lord Jesus Christ, and no curse of any kind has any claim over us.  

For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love (5 )he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will— (6) to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves.  ~Ephesians 1:4-6

As each of us takes daily steps nearer to eternity with our King, we can read the Bible and obey the words within it.  As we live-our-lives and each day step one day closer to our (earthly) deaths, we can embrace what the Bible proclaims and promises about tomorrow.

“Look, I am coming soon! Blessed are those who obey the words of prophecy written in this book.”  ~Revelation 22:7

We will obey and we are obeying...and (just as God says), we are blessed, and we will be blessed by our God if we are obeying.

The "no longer" is coming and we praise the Lord for his sovereignty and dominion over the curses of our today and we cherish our Lord for His Word and His promises, which are trustworthy and true, and they whisper into our Heavenly-tomorrow, where no longer will there be a curse upon anything.

Sounds Heavenly, doesn't it?

Then the angel showed me a river with the water of life, clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb. (2) It flowed down the center of the main street. 

On each side of the river grew a tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, with a fresh crop each month. The leaves were used for medicine to heal the nations. 

(3) No longer will there be a curse upon anything. For the throne of God and of the Lamb will be there, and his servants will worship him. (4) And they will see his face, and his name will be written on their foreheads. 

(5) And there will be no night there—no need for lamps or sun—for the Lord God will shine on them. And they will reign forever and ever. 

(6) Then the angel said to me, “Everything you have heard and seen is trustworthy and true. The Lord God, who inspires his prophets, has sent his angel to tell his servants what will happen soon.”  

(7) “Look, I am coming soon! Blessed are those who obey the words of prophecy written in this book.”  ~Revelation 22:1-7

It’s never too late to turn to the Lord.   And--it’s never too late to turn back to the Lord.   Do we GET IT?   King Hezekiah GOT IT.   The people in his area (Israel) had not been following the Lord, and they had fallen away from the (God-ordained) traditions that the Lord had designed to connect His people with Himself,  like going to church (Temple), and like celebrating the festival of Passover.  So they sent a proclamation throughout all Israel...inviting everyone to come to Jerusalem to celebrate the Passover of the  Lord , the God of Israel. The people had not been celebrating it in great numbers as required in the Law ( 2 Chronicles 30:5). Hezekiah  invited the people back to church!  But how to get the word out? Ever been around boys (of any age)?  They don't concern themselves with talking about   other  boys...they are not (usually) comparative that way, and would prefer to be competitive instead.  They are often contented with jokes and sounds, rather than defaming other guys or discussing their shortfalls. But...ever been around women ( of any age )?  For some sinful reason, our conversations often seem to p ick-a-little, talk-a-little, pick some more and talk, talk, talk about other women.  We  simmer into a boil as we digress and regress into unbecoming chatter about   other  women.   It's a terrible habit and yet girls in elementary school don't need to be taught how and even elderly church biddies can't quite fully withdraw.  We all still fall to condemning others  from time to time.  We have this sinful draw to make ourselves feel good by chirping back and forth and making someone   else   feel bad. The earth is the   Lord ’s, and everything in it.   The world and all its people belong to him.   (2)  For he laid the earth’s foundation on the seas  and built it on the ocean depths.   ~Psalm 24:1-2 We belong to Him, but also…our world belongs to Him: and  everything in it .   Everything.   Every tree and flower, every person, every pelican, everything. How are we responding to that glorious Truth today?   Can we praise Him today?  Can we acknowledge and absorb (and respond!) to the awesome Truth that we belong to Him :  the Creator of all things, and our Creator?   He laid the earth’s foundation ...and (even)  the earth  knows that it belongs to him ...
