Corona Devo 3301
The last book in the Bible is called Revelation, and one of the last words and commands that Jesus gives to the world (and us!) is: "Come".
Jesus being Jesus...(“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. (9) “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. ~Isaiah 55:8-9)... He uses the word "come" multiple times, and He establishes multiple meanings to it.
The "invitation" of "come" targets and invites us. Christ is clear and He is calling us to come to Him today.
The Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let the one who hears say, “Come!”

This is certainly not the first time that Jesus has invited us to come:
- Jesus answered her, “If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water.” (11) “Sir,” the woman said, “you have nothing to draw with and the well is deep. Where can you get this living water?... (13) Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, (14) but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” (25) The woman said, “I know that Messiah” (called Christ) “is coming. When he comes, he will explain everything to us.” (26) Then Jesus declared, “I, the one speaking to you—I am he.” ~John 4:10-11, 13-14, 25-26
- “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." ~Matthew 11:28
Are we thirsty for more than this broken, shallow, superficial, temporary world offers?
Jesus beckons us: Come.
Yes, we are thirsty, and Christ offers us the free gift of the water of life, and Jesus Christ is the living water that our dry and thirsting souls need in this world.
On the last and greatest day of the festival, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, “Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink. (38) Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them." ~John 7:37-38
And only Jesus can.
And (if we ask), only Jesus will.
Today.
Don't delay.
One "come" is our invitation, and the other "come" that Jesus announces is His.
He. Is. Coming.
“Look, I am coming soon! Blessed is the one who keeps the words of the prophecy written in this scroll.” ~Revelation 22:7
One of the last things that Jesus tells us in the Bible is that we can come to Him (Revelation 22:17). But the other truth that He announces is that we have a deadline on our spiritual decision-making, and so we best be putting our faith-affairs in order today.

When Jesus says, "soon", only He knows that day or hour, but it is completely within our power to be standing with Him when He comes.
The invitation to come is Christ's, but the decision to accept (and be ready when He comes) is ours.
The angel said to me, “These words are trustworthy and true. The Lord, the God who inspires the prophets, sent his angel to show his servants the things that must soon take place.”
(7) “Look, I am coming soon! Blessed is the one who keeps the words of the prophecy written in this scroll.”...

Sisters and Brothers, let us come, because He IS coming.
