God knows our day today.  He has laid our plans and orchestrated our outcomes. Inquire of Him.  Trust Him.  Believe Him.   Ask  Him what's on tap today, for He has already plotted it out and  planned  it.  God assures us of this through His Word (and some of us need to hear today that He is in control  and He will manage our day and all that we will face).  He will. ...all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.  ~Psalm 1 Maps 39:16 The Bible (God's Word) also gives us real-life examples of people who trusted  their days to God.  They woke up just as we did today, they asked  the Lord into their day and lives, and then (get ready!) they trusted Him,  even if they didn't understand exactly what He was sending them to do. We can do that today too! As they approached Jerusalem and came to Bethphage on the Mount of Olives, Jesus sent two disciples,  ( 2)  ...

This took place to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet: (5)  “Say to Daughter Zion,  ‘See, your king comes to you, g entle and riding on a donkey,  and on a colt, the foal of a donkey.’”   (6)  The disciples went and did as Jesus had instructed them.  ( 7)  They brought the donkey and the colt and placed their cloaks on them for Jesus to sit on.   ( 8)  A very large crowd spread their cloaks on the road, while others cut branches from the trees and spread them on the road.  ( 9)  The crowds that went ahead of him and those that followed shouted,  “Hosanna to the Son of David!”   “Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!”  “Hosanna in the highest heaven!”   (10)  When Jesus entered Jerusalem, the whole city was stirred and asked, “Who is this?”   (11)  The crowds answered, “This is Jesus, the prophet from Nazareth in Galilee.”  ~Matth...

Jesus interceded for us and took-on ( bore ) our sins on the cross.   But before Jesus bore for us (over 700 years before He bore ), the prophet Isaiah told  people and prophisied that Jesus would do that for us.   The Bible (Old and New Testament) proves  the Bible (Old and New Testament). Seven hundred years before Jesus "came on the scene", He was (of course) behind the scenes.  He and the Father were orchestrating the scene, the backdrop, the final curtain, and they had also already orchestrated the Easter morning  encore performance  of the risen Christ.  ~~~ Isaiah described the early (and normal) life of Jesus (long before Jesus ever came to be "born" to Mary and Joseph.)   He grew up before him like a tender shoot,  and like a root out of dry ground.   He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him,  nothing in his appearance that we should desire him.  ~Isaiah 53:2 Isaia...

The tax man cometh, and we all know that.  For Americans, he comes around April 15th each year, but no matter what country you reside in, he comes all the same. Taxes were due one day when  Jesus and his disciples arrived in Capernaum .  Every male 20-years and older owed  two-drachma  (approximately two days wages), which went towards the upkeep of the Temple.  The rule was that priests and people associated with the Temple (doing the work of God) did not have to pay those taxes.   But although Jesus was God's Son , had performed miracles and spoke of dying and being resurrected, the church and government of Jesus' day did not consider Him to be exempt from the taxes. Would you consider Jesus and His disciples to be doing the work of God? I would too. But the question that was asked of Jesus on that (tax) day in Capernaum wasn't about Heaven or how to please God.  Instead the tax collectors  came to Peter and asked, “Does...

Our oldest was into the   Ripley's Believe It or Not b ooks for a while, so we have a number of them on our bookshelf.  And if we are ever in a (tourist) city that hosts one of the   Ripley's Believe It or Not  museums, you better believe that we make time  to meander through the lobby exhibits and read up on people like Robert Pershing Wadlow, world's tallest man  at 8 ft. 11 inches ( born in February, 1918), or J.T. Saylors (1930's) who could put his bottom lip up over his nose. But far more amazing than human oddities is the majesty, sovereignty, and power of our Lord.  He can do anything, and I stumbled upon a   Ripley's Believe It or Not  moment in Scripture today.   Ever heard of the 'Transfiguration of Christ'?   Believe it or not , here it is: After six days Jesus took with him Peter, James and John the brother of James, and led them up a high mountain by themselves.   ( 2)  There he was transfigure...
