We finally had a morning where the temperatures moved above the forties and I decided to crack the window over my kitchen sink...just to hear the morning birds chattering and to breathe a little fresh air.  But as I inhaled, my lungs and my heart filled up with the delicious scent of lavender lilacs, and my mood instantly was uplifted.  My lips curved up in a s mile and the day was better ...just because of those lilacs and their amazing, pleasing, pleasant aroma. I wonder...do we (you and I), or  could we. ..have that same "lilac effect" on the people that we encounter and engage with today?  For we are to God the fragrance of Christ  among those who are being saved and  among those who are perishing.  ~II Corinthians 2:15 We have to begin by having Christ within us...to fill us up with His Spirit, so that we might release His fragrance.  But, we have the Lord, don't we Brothers and Sisters in Christ?  Or--I should say, He has us. We know ...

I found it curious today in my Bible reading today that God called the mountains and hills to be our witnesses today.  Is that odd? Or do we discount that just as God created man (Adam) and from Adam... us, God also created and breathed life into all things: the mountains and the hills too. And God said, “Let the water under the sky be gathered to one place, and let dry ground appear.” And it was so. ( 10) God called the dry ground “land,” and the gathered waters he called “seas.” And God saw that it was good.  ~Genesis 1:9-10 Or do we discount (in their value) that the mountains and hills were here long before us...and will be here long after we're gone? God calls  the mountains and hills to witness our complaints against Him, and just His authority and sovereignty in doing so demonstrates His power and rule over us and all things. Believe it  today, Brothers and Sisters in Christ!  Believe in God and trust what He has said.    When we do, that's called faith , and our faith  makes all the difference in our today.  Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.  ~Hebrews 11:1  Believe it  today, Brothers and Sisters in Christ!  What the Lord has spoken into our hearts  is true , and i s here... but only if we have the faith to believe it. The good news is that even if our faith tends to teeter, we can be strengthened by those who have walked in faith before us.  The Bible provides real people who had faith, and because they believed, we can read about their testimony today...and we can have the strength to believe  because they did. In the day of prosperity be joyful, b ut in the day of adversity consider:  Surely God has appointed the one   as  well as the other...   ~Ecclesiastes 7:14 Life is yin and yang.  Our days are comprised of  joy of prosperity  and also the difficulty of adversity .  One day we are up,  and one day we are down .  And on some wild and wonderful days: we experience both. In the yin and yang of things, students (including my kids!) are in the final days and weeks of the academic school year, and there is much stress surrounding and infused within the last stretches of tests, finals, projects, concerts, shows, speeches, and (let's face it): expectations. We may not be a student, but we needn't be to feel the pressure of life's stress bearing down on us.   The Lord is with the students who are grinding-out their faith and final projects, and our Lord God is with us , Brothers and Sisters in Christ.  Let's draw strength, fort...

I don't want to miss it!  But do not worry: no one will be able to miss it. ~~~ Sometimes we are too busy/distracted/sad/buoyant to "stop and smell the roses" in our lives.   It may be snowing or scorching-hot outdoors, but in concentration on other  things, sometimes we can move through the conditions and surroundings of life almost completely unaware of them. Much of life can be easily missed in the daily mundane of it. But, Brothers and Sisters in Christ-- we will notice when God is moving in the last days , and we will not miss when the lamb opens the sixth seal .  We will notice (and behold!) the sun ...it will turn black .   We will see the moon  become as red as blood. We will not miss the stars ...as they fall to the earth like figs  falling from a tree. And how could we not  notice when the sky is rolled up like a scroll ? And...geologist or not: we will document the day, (in the last days) when  all of the mountains ...

Ahhh, wow.  Have you ever stayed in a hotel room so posh that they had a fluffy, plush, white robe hanging in the closet for your comfort and care?   Ahhh, wow...we can just imagine the soft warm fluff on our skin.  Or maybe we are on a cruise ship, at a bed and breakfast, or even in the comfort of our own home: and a beautiful robe of value and class and softness hangs with the purpose of being hung over our shoulders and body---as a treat and reward. Ahhh, wow. ~~~ Do we ever feel as if we are standing alone  for the word of God ?  We have no robe over our shoulders today, and it is safe to admit that living for the Lord is difficult  and lonely at times. Many people do not want to hear  or see God's truth being lived out..and if we are seeking to live for the Lord... it's hard.   People can be hard to us.  People can hate God, and they can hate us.   But, please Friends, keep  being faithful in your  testimony...

We have a robin's nest on our front porch, and my husband and I delight to peek outside and watch the mama-robin as she cares for her unhatched. She has three brilliantly-blue eggs in her nest, and when I wake up in the morning and glance at her...she is sitting there on those eggs.   At mid-morning or mid-day, as I enter and exit our home--she is still-on-duty, protecting those eggs.   In the afternoon, if I peer outside: there she sits in her nest, guarding and warming those eggs.  If I glance out to our porch even at midnight, she is there, perched on her eggs.  That mama-robin literally cares for her eggs, (her unborn chicks)...night and day.    If our comings-and-goings get too  loud or close, then s he may fly away for a moment.  But never too far..and never for long.    Friends in Christ--our Lord/our God/our Heavenly Father  is never far off, and His heart is even more devoted and fierce for us than that mother rob...
